Society of Washington Artists Spring Show Call for Art

PROSPECTUS & CALL FOR ARTISTS

Registration opens March 1, 2023, and closes April 15, 2023, or when we reach 200 entries.

Members: $25 for the first entry and $10 for each additional piece. 3 entries

per artist

Non-Members: $35 first entry and $10 for each additional piece. 3 entries per artist

Online payment is included in the registration process. If you have trouble paying online please email treasurer@swavancouver.com as soon as possible.

Hanging Requirements: Art must be dry, framed appropriately or on gallery-wrapped canvas or board, and ready to hang with a wire that is 3 inches below the top of the frame and not visible above the top of the frame when hung. NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS OR CLIPS. The maximum hanging size is 36” X 40” including the frame. Up to seven larger pieces with a maximum size of 42”w x48”h, including frame, will require easels, and be accepted on a first-come basis. 

Pieces larger than 42” x 48” are $10.00 extra and must have their own show condition easel. Easels not clean and sturdy may be rejected.

Awards:

Cash Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and Best In Show.

Sales: SWA will retain 35% of the sale price. Criteria For Art:

• Accepted art will be unique, original art that is primarily aesthetic in its intent and purpose. No work copied from old masters or from copyrighted or published materials without permission. No work produced in step-by-step instruction classes. • Art must not have been previously judged in an SWA Show. • Show managers reserve the right to determine whether art meets the criteria.
