Spotlight on Washington's Artist Trust: Empowering Art and Artists

Who is Artist Trust?
Artist Trust is a nonprofit organization that has been a lifeline for artists across Washington State since 1986. Recognized nationally for direct funding and professional development, they have invested over $15 million in individual artists.
With a commitment to enriching community life, their mission is to support artists in all disciplines. Artist Trust views its work through the lenses of racial and geographic equity and is actively working towards becoming an anti-racist organization.
With aspirational values, Artist Trust emphasizes community, leadership, power-sharing, trust, and continued learning. They strive to be an inclusive environment that celebrates the voices of artists, particularly those from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, or rural communities.
Where Does the Funding Come From?
Artist Trust's financial muscle is fueled by a mixture of fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement. Their fundraising efforts are community-centric and aligned with movement building, engaging donors as partners, and fostering relationships between donors and artists. This collaborative approach ensures a continued stream of support for artists.
