Applications Due May 31st A program of Artstra, Clark County Open Studios is a juried annual art event that offers artists a unique opportunity to gain further recognition, open their studio doors to the public, and show and sell their work. The Open Studio tour plays an important role in helping to develop our vibrant and diverse art community! It uncovers and connects the individual artists living and working in Clark County and artists to patrons and art lovers all over the region. To date, the tour has shared 183 unique artists in their workspaces across the County. Each year, participating artists are selected in a "blind jury process". We are honored to have three exceptional jurors for the 2024 tour. Teri Sunds is the director and owner of Imogen Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. With a background in fine arts and extensive experience in gallery management, Sunds brings a lifelong passion for visual arts and a commitment to promoting emerging talents. Dylan Beck is an artist and educator from Portland, OR, led as Associate Professor at Oregon College of Art and Craft (2013-19) and as Assistant Professor at Kansas State University (2007-13). With degrees from Ohio University, Illinois State University, and Tyler School of Art, Beck's contributions span exhibitions, lectures, and publications in ceramics. Julie Devine is a Seattle-based oil painter whose semi-abstract, gestural style is collected internationally. In 2023, she opened JDS gallery on the Seattle Waterfront, where she teaches workshops and exhibits her paintings and ceramics. The program continues to grow and prosper, and we are thankful for all the support that enables us to keep the program going strong and helps artists continue to create. Again this year, Artstra is offering the CHISTINE RICE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP for artists 20-30 applying to for the first time. In remembrance of open studio artist Christine Rice, this scholarship was created to support young artists on their career paths. Included with their participation in open studios, they will receive a 500-1000 stipend plus mentorship from a seasoned Open Studios Artist, with the option to be hosted in another artist's studio. The award is given on merit and chosen based on the highest jurors’ scores.  Learn more HERE. If you have a studio and an art-making practice that you would like to share, check out the APPLICATION GUIDELINES to see if the Clark County Open Studio tour is right for you. You will also find resources there to help you make a strong application. Please feel free to contact me with questions, concerns, or help to apply.
