Here are the Park Addresses

I sent you the final draft in an email. Do you need the addresses for each park? I have that.

Angela - do you think you can go ahead and put together our version with the graphics and map links so that we can see a finished version? That would certainly help me to visualize it.

Angela- I think sending the Parks and Rec guidelines when they sign up automatically sounds GREAT!

I have received additional information from Stacey regarding the Movie Night/Pop-Up Art Event. (It is attached here) PLEASE READ IT OVER CAREFULLY. There are some changes on the set up times. They have also send an information sheet for us to send out. (I will attach that here as well.) I will need your help in reviewing this material prior to sending it out to all of our art groups. We need to discuss this at our meeting on April 10. Please confirm to me here that you have reviewed this information.

I've asked that question and have not received an answer. In my mind after having visited each of the parks involved, space would not be an issue. But there may be things that Park and Rec are doing that could affect the number of artists who can participate.

I send another follow-up today to Stacey and Johnie to get their approval for the send out.......

I still need approval from Vancouver Parks and Rec.

When I have approval from the rest of the Board, I'll let you know. Most of us are up to our necks getting ready for the SWA Spring Art Show

@Steven Baer I'm not sure. I think for the time being, we should stick to the art component and let them do what has worked for them. Hard to argue with their participation numbers.....

@hopeartwatercolors I think keeping the option open to more than one group makes good sense. I don't see how one group could service 500 - 2000 folks. 😀

@earleneholmstrom To be clear, CAN member artists can either demonstrate their art and have pieces for sale, provide an family friendly activity or display and sell their work.

Angela - The artists who are participating should all be members of Columbia Arts Network. Are you asking because you will be having artists who want to participate who are not CAN members? This is not an event where non-members will be participating.

The artists are not required to have an activity. If they want to do an activity Parks and Rec can provide the materials as long as it's not crazy expensive. I don't know what their budget is.

CAN BOARD MEMBERS - PLEASE REVIEW THIS SECOND DRAFT OF THE POP-UP ART SENT OUT

We have a slightly different take on which artists will be participating. I had envisioned that any CAN Member artist can participate in any of the movie night events as long as they use our sign up sheet so that we can track how many "pop-ups" will be there. If a particular club wants to have one or more pop-ups and share that space with more than one member, that's their choice. I'm not sure it's fair to all the artists who want to participate to limit the participants to only one or two clubs per event. I believe all movie nights should be open to as many participants as there is room to accommodate them. Some artists may only want to participate in one movie night based on the park location; some others may want to participate in multiple nights. In addition, some artists may want to set up easels and demonstrate their technique and some may just want to sell art; further, some may want to include a family activity in order to appeal to a wider audience. These activities will align with our stated goal of engaging our community in art appreciation and education. I am appealing to all Board members for input. Please offer your suggestions and opinions so that all of our views can be represented. Christine Wichers
